Early Admission: Northwestern University
As the best fencer at her age group in Canada, HFC fencer Xiaohan Chen got early admission from US top-10 university Northwestern. She also signed up with NCAA as student athlete to continue her fencing career on road to Olympic Games
December NAC, Salt Late City, USA
HFC fecner Xiaohan Chen made the history! She completed the Junior Sabre at the 6th place and her level was upgraded to A-rating. This is the ever best result of Canadian Women Junior Sabre.
OFA Circuit #2, Ottawa
Congratulations to our medalists, Chenfei, Eric, Jerry, Kate, Mona, Tira, Alicia! and to all the young fencers had their first real competitions on pistes. Thanks to all parents having been traveling so long to support their hero kids!
Brock Fencing Open, St. Catharines
Highlight - Our veteran fencer Youye made his first medal in Canada, the silver in the veteran mixed fencing group. He also ranked the 13th in the senior group. Bill made both top-8 at Junior and Senior group, only one step to the medal. Congratulations to our all other fencers!
51st Annual RMC Invitational Team Competition, Kingston
Honor Fencing Club was invited again to this long history team compeition event. Our women sabre team bid University of Toronto team A and B and honored the champion. Honor Fencing men sabre team finished at top-8 in men sabre team compeition.
Canada Cup, Vancouver
Jeremy finally stands on top-8 within the senior group competition of men sabre. He is the only one from Ontario reached quarter final. Xiaohan Chen stopped at semi-final after 14:15 one touch short lost to current Canadian senior women sabre team member. But she maintained the title of national champion at junior women sabre group. Julia won the silver medal at cadet women sabre group.
October NAC, Minneapolis, USA
Xiaohan Chen ended up with Top-32 in the Women Saber Div 1 competition. She is the only Canadian fencers won through after 2 elimination rounds. This Div 1 competition is a A-4 match, the highest level match in North America. About 50% participants are Athlete-A.
Remenyik ROC and RJCC, Evanston, USA
Xiaohan Chen won the silver medal at the Women Junior group, which is a A-2 level competition in US. The spoils is a battle-axe. We will go with an exhibition tour of this axe in both our Mississauga and Markham clubs.
OFA Circuit #1, Montreal
Congratulations to Jessica and Eric, both won the bronze medal at the Senior Men Division-2 group, and at the Junior and Senior Women group
